Mandarin Oriental
Pied a Terre

BACK BAY, BOSTON

Lisa was referred to this client through her connection with one of Boston’s top real estate brokers. The client purchased her pied-a-terre at the Residences at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston, to serve as a base of operations between Boston, Santa Monica and Shanghai. Lisa was tasked with integrating existing furnishings and art from the client’s former home with new pieces for a fresh, easy to maintain, and cohesive atmosphere that supports her life on the go. Lisa worked with her client remotely and provided turnkey service from the design and planning phase through installation.

Lisa used a white canvas approach to the space with accents of color as unifying threads to meld together different styles of furnishings, which visually enlarged the space. The open concept living/dining/kitchen area required multi-purpose space planning solutions to allow for a large television, dining and socializing. A second bedroom serves as a dual-purpose office and guest bedroom with the use of a sleeper sofa. Through a savvy employment of color Lisa provided big solutions for a compact home that feels both approachable and well-curated. The collaboration was such a success that Lisa was contracted to provide design services for her client’s luxury Shanghai apartment.
